Awarded to the top-performing group for that stage of the day. This ensemble demonstrates exceptional musicianship, cohesion, and overall excellence.
Distinguished Performance
Selected by the judges for a performance they particularly enjoyed. This award highlights groups whose performance was memorable and engaging, regardless of ratings.
Outstanding Achievement
Awarded to groups whose performance was exceptional and nearly reached the highest level of distinction, demonstrating remarkable skill, artistry, and musical impact.
Sectional Excellence
Presented to the top-performing section on each stage, celebrating the teamwork and artistry that create a truly standout sound.

The Heartland Harmony Award recognizes the group that demonstrates outstanding spirit, sportsmanship, and positivity. The Rising Stars Award honors our talented elementary-grade musicians, celebrating their exceptional performances, effort, and growth.

Awarded to groups that receive two “One” ratings from the judges, recognizing a performance of the highest caliber.
Superior
Presented to groups earning one “One” rating and one “Two” rating, reflecting an excellent performance with minor areas for improvement.
Excellent
Given to groups that receive two “Two” ratings, acknowledging a strong performance with consistent quality.
Individual Medals – Awarded to outstanding individual musicians, recognizing exceptional musical talent. This can include soloists or any musician who stands out during the performance.
Section Medals – Recognizes the excellence of a specific section within a group, honoring exceptional cohesion, technique, and musicality among its members.
